Our family spans 6 generations of family members.  Our beloved Shri. Katchaikatti Sankaran Chettiar moved from the village of Katchaikatti (near Vadipatti) to Chinnalapatti for better opportunity and safety for his family members. 

He along with his wife Smt. Sankarammal established a General Merchant Store in Kadai Veethi (Street) in Chinnalapatti. They both were well known in town for their empathy and goodwill towards less fortunate folks in the town. 

His two sons, Shri. Mottayan Chettiar and Shri. Soundaiah Chettiar ventured into handloom Sarees business to keep up with changing times. They were very successful in establishing a wholesale sarees manufacturing business.  He also had a daughter Smt. Veliangiriammal.
